XX Public and Private Justice Course and Conference pt. Digital Transformation of Civil Justice. Improving or Dehumanizing Dispute Resolution? organizowana przez Inter-University Centre odbędzie się Dubrowniku w dniach 25 – 29 maja 2026 r. (poniedziałek – piątek)
Digitalisation, algorithmic decision-making, online courts, AI-assisted adjudication, and platform-based dispute resolution are rapidlly reshaping the landscape of civil justice. These developments promise greater efficiency, accessibility, and cost reduction. At the same time, they raise profound questions about procedural fairness, transparency, accountability, judicial independence, and the human dimension of adjudication. The jubilee edition of PPJ aims to provide a critical and forward-looking discussion of these challenges.
Does digital transformation genuinely improve civil justice, or does it risk dehumanising dispute resolution? How should procedural systems respond to technological innovation while preserving core rule-of-law guarantees? What balance should be struck between efficiency, automation, and the irreplaceable role of human judgment? And what is the role of law schools in preparing lawyers for increasingly automated justice systems?
